Italy 2019 - This was the first trip abroad we had been on. There were plenty of jokes regarding how we were going to get engaged on this trip though we had barely been dating for 6 months. Katie: Eating lasagna beside the Colosseum after touring it without formally setting the tour up. James: Found out that Katie's favorite candy was Kit Kats and that abroad they taste much better than they do in the states.

China 2019 - This trip was the only trip we went on a schedule/guided tour, and it was only because neither of us felt comfortable in a place where we couldn't read the language. Katie: Eating soup dumplings. To this day I have been ordering dumplings from every Asian restaurant to find something that is remarkably close. I have not been successful much to my dismay. James: Getting thrown off the subway at a random station in Shanghai at 00:00 because we didn't know the subway wouldn't continue the entire line before closing. We may or may not of planned a way to overtake the cab driver in case he deviated from the way to the hotel. We also may or may not have negotiated a really low cab fare for that trip as well.

Mexico 2020 - This trip was scheduled over the New Year so we could bring in the next year on a positive note. Katie enjoys the beach so much more than James, but he was willing to deal with the sand because she asked nicely for a beach trip. Katie: We made a rule that if guacamole was an option on the menu, we would try it. The best was at our favorite drinking spot on the far side of the island in the middle of nowhere at a tiki hut on the beach off the side of the road. James: In trying to start off the year in a nice way, Katie ended up getting extremely sick on this trip. She slept for most of the days and all throughout the night. We even had to cancel our snorkeling adventure, something I'm sure she still regrets to this day.

Ireland 2021 - This trip was our first attempt to relax since COVID-19 and the quarantine. Setting up the COVID testing to get there and to get back was a gigantic pain, but the trip itself was lovely. Katie & James: This is where we got engaged and this is where we are planning to get married. You can say it made quite the impression.

Iceland 2022 - This trip was scheduled during Katie's nursing journey. Seeing the Aurora Borealis was always on Katie's bucket list and we were lucky enough to have succeeded in accomplishing that task. Katie: Besides the obvious, which was freezing our asses off in the middle of the night to see the borealis, there's a little hot dog stand in the middle of downtown Reykjavik that sold the best hot dogs I have ever eaten. James: I posted on social media for ideas of things to do while in Iceland and one of my friends suggested going to the Phallological Museum in Reykjavik... it's a dick museum. It's exactly what you think it is.
