Q + A

What day should I be in Dublin?

May 27th, 2025. Feel free to schedule vacation days around this date. We strongly encourage coming at least one day before the wedding to avoid flight delays causing problems and to get adjusted from the 5-hour time change. We encourage you to travel Ireland and enjoy traveling as we do at your own pace.

What airport should I fly into?

Our wedding venue will be in Dublin, Ireland so if you're looking for the closest and easiest option, you'll want to fly into the Dublin Airport (DUB). There is also an airport located in Clare, Ireland called Shannon Airport (SNN). This airport is on the western side of the country if that fits your travel plans better.

Where is the wedding?

Smock Alley Theatre - A theatre built in 1662 nestled inside of Temple Bar in Dublin Ireland.

What is the dress code?

Formal. James and I along with our bridal party will be formally dressed for the occasion and would appreciate you in a similar clothing style. The one deviation from the formal attire will be footwear. We are planning on having a night out on the town after the ceremony so keep that in mind.

Can I take pictures or video during the ceremony?

We are investing in a good photographer to memorialize the ceremony, so we have you covered. We would prefer for everyone to be in the moment with us rather than on your phones. Also, it looks weird when you are on your phone taking a picture while in a photo yourself (photoception).

How should I travel around the country?

The biggest issue when traveling is that the roads are flipped meaning you will be driving on the left side of the road. As such the components in the car are opposite from what we are used to in the United States (peddles, gear shifter, etc.) which may make operating a manual car more challenging. To avoid any additional confusion when renting a car, purchase an automatic upgrade. Otherwise, Ireland utilizes the Uber app to call for taxis to take you where you want to go.

How do I charge my devices?

Ireland utilizes different outlets than the United States. If you plan on charging any devices while abroad, it would be in your best interest to purchase a US to UK outlet adapter.
